PURPOSE:To accurately find various information, by a method wherein an opening is formed in a footing secured to the lower end of a leg, a space, being open to the opening, is formed, and device, which protrudes a sensor device, located in the space, from the space to the opening or restores it to the space from the opening, is provided. CONSTITUTION:A guide opening 24 of a spad pile 22, vertically extended through, is formed in the central part of a footing 16 secured to legs 14 of a leg elevating type off-shore working platform, and a space 26, being open to the opening 24, is provided to the interior of the footing 16. A measuring device 30 is formed with a sensor device 36, which can be protruded from the space 26 to the opening 24 and retracted into the space 26 from a position allowing the sensor device to be protruded in the opening 24 through operation of an actuator 34 secured to a base bed 32, and the measuring device 30 is contained in the space 26.
