PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound in high yield, by hydrogenating catalytically a cyclic olefin by the use of a synthetic aluminosilicate obtained by heating an aqueous mixture containing a silica source, an alumina source, and an alkali metallic source in the presence of an alkylurea as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A cyclic alcohol (e.g., cyclohexanol, etc.) is obtained by a catalytic hydrogenation of a cyclic olefin by the use of a catalyst having high activity and a long life obtained by heating an aqueous mixture containing a silica source such as silica gel, etc., alumina source such as alumina, etc., and alkali metallic source such as NaOH, etc. in the presence of at least one compound selected from lower alkylureas such as methylurea, etc., and lower alkylthioureas such as methylthiourea, etc. at about 100-180 deg.C while stirring. EFFECT:An extremely high conversion ratio is obtained and reactivity is prolonged over a long period. |
