PURPOSE:To enhance dot reproduction property and recorded density, by subjecting a paper base to surface sizing with a synthetic size to set a Cobb water absorbency to be not higher than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:To prevent surface smoothness from being degraded on coating with a heat-sensitive coating liquid, a paper base is subjected to surface sizing with a synthetic size to obtain a Cobb water absorbency according to JIS-P-8140 of not higher than 25g/m<2>, and a thermal color forming layer is provided on the paper base. The synthetic size may be a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer, a polyacrylamide, a polyamide-polyurea, a polyamide-polyamine epichlorohydrin, an alkylketene dimer-epoxidized fatty acid amide, polyurethane or the like, and is preferably a reaction product of a fatty acid having at least 10 carbon atoms. |
