PURPOSE:To feed tape fast with high reliability at low cost by providing a member which stops the rotation of a detection roller. CONSTITUTION:The detection roller 6 contacts a magnetic tape 1 and a fre quency generator 7 converts a tape speed into an electric signal according to its rotating speed. The converted electric signal is inputted to a control circuit 8 and control is so performed as to increase the rotating speed of the motor when the tape speed is slow or decrease the rotating speed of the motor when the tape speed is fast, thereby feeding the tape 1 at a constant speed. A fast-forward rod 11 is slidable as shown by an arrow and when a rod 11 energized by; a spring 12 is pressed in, it is pressed against the detection roller 6, thereby stopping the rotation of the roller. A control circuit 8 inputs a signal when the tape 1 stops and a speed increase command is sent to the motor 5. Consequently, the tape is fed fast with high reliability at low cost.
