<p>A method of and a device for measuring a nugget (N) produced in a lap resistance welding by utilizing a supersonic wave, which comprises contacting a vibrator opposite type oblique probe (P) in which a pair of vibrators comprising a transmitting vibrator (1) and a receiving vibrator (2) are provided through an acoustic dividing surface (5) to cross the nugget (N) at an interval in a case (4) on a base material to be lap resistance welded across the nugget (N), emitting a supersonic wave from the vibrator (1) toward the nugget (N), receiving the reflected wave reflected through the nugget (N) by the vibrator (2), and measuring the nugget (N) with the height of an echo (R) of the received reflected wave as an evaluating index, thereby nondestructively, simply and quantitatively measuring the nugget (N) of all lap resistance welding for producing the nugget (N) without evaluation by a conventional, mainly qualitative, evaluation or a destructive test.</p> |
