A movement splint for the therapeutic functional treatment of the leg joints of a patient comprises a bracket (6), a thigh support (2) and a calf support (4). The thigh support is connected at one end to the bracket (6) and at the other end to the calf support (4) so as to be capable of pivoting movement. A pair of telescopic support arms (8) extends between the bracket (6) and the calf support (4), these arms holding the calf support so that the patient's leg does not move below a horizontal position. One or more of the articulated connections between the parts, which are pivotable relative to one another, preferably the articulated connection (12) between the thigh support and calf support, includes a torsion spring whose spring force is adjustable. The calf support can be moved by a driven force actuating member (32). The movement splint permits therapeutic treatment with active participation of the patient against the force of the prestressed spring and with passive movement by the force actuating member (32). <IMAGE>
