PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording sheet having excellent water resistance, solvent resistance and color forming property, by incorporating a silyl-containing denatured PVA and a carboxyl-containing water-soluble polymer as a water- resisting agent into a thermal color forming component layer as a binder. CONSTITUTION:The content of silyl in the denatured PVA is 0.01-10mol% as silyl-containing monomer units. The polymerization degree of the denatured PVA is selected in the range of 30-3,000, and the saponification degree thereof is selected in the range of 70-100mol%. The carboxyl-containing water-soluble polymyer used as a water-resisting agent is preferably one in which an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid consists of a polybasic carboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof. It is preferable that the content of carboxyl in a copolymer is 10-90mol%m, and further, not less than 20% of the carboxyl groups are in the form of carboxylic acid. |
