A clamping chuck for a rotary tool (10) having a cylindrical shank (9) comprises a carrier body (1) which can be connected to the spindle of a machine tool and a tool holder (7) which is connected to the carrier body (1) in centered relationship and which has a central cylindrical receiving bore (8) for receiving the shank (9) of the tool. A clamping roller (14) is mounted with wide clearance in a transverse bore which adjoins the cylindrical receiving bore (8) and which extends normal thereto. Axially displaceably mounted in the tool holder (7), in a mounting bore (16) extending in parallel relationship to the receiving bore (8), is a clamp slider (17) having a clamping surface (18) which extends at an acute angle ( mu ) to its axis and which bears against the clamping roller (14). Provided in the tool holder (7) is a clamping means (20, 22, 25, 26) with which a clamping force can be produced on the clamp slider (17), acting substantially in the axial direction thereof. Provided on the shank (9) of the tool is a flat (19) which extends parallel to the axis of the shank and against which the clamping roller (14) can be pressed. (Fig. 1) <IMAGE> |
