PURPOSE:To attain the reception of picture signals with no interruption by storing successively the received picture information when the image formation is impossible after deciding whether an image can be formed or not to a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A signal sent from a facsimile device at the remote side is demodulated and decoded by an NCU2, a demodulator 4 and a decoder 6 and recorded through a recording part 10. While a recording paper detecting circuit 14 detects the presence or absence of the recording paper. Furthermore a jam detecting circuit 16 detects the recording paper jam. Then the reception information is stored in an auxiliary memory 12 in case the absence of the recording paper or recording paper jamming is detected.
