A boom device for overhead irrigation, which is insensitive to ground unevenness, has a chassis (1) and, running transversely thereto, an overhead irrigation pipe (12, 13) which is fastened in an articulated manner on a compensating device of the chassis (1). The fastening point lies considerably higher than the plane of the overhead irrigation pipe (12, 13) so that the chassis (1) can pivot freely while the overhead irrigation pipe remains in a horizontal position. The overhead irrigation pipe (12, 13) is held in a position transversely to the chassis by removable guides (20). When said guides are removed, the overhead irrigation pipe (12, 13) can turn and be aligned in the longitudinal direction. <IMAGE>
