PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the quality of an ingot and the trouble in operation owing to the sticking, etc. by disposing the guide rolls right under a continuous casting mold at the nonuniform pitch which is asymmetrical on the right and left thereby decreasing the fluctuation of the molten metal surface arising from the nonstationary bulging of the ingot. CONSTITUTION:The guide roll groups right under the continuous casting mold are disposed at the nonuniform pitch which is asymmetrical on the right and left. The stationary bulging arises in the ingot particularly in the shell forming part between the rolls but the molten metal surface fluctuates less as the bulging is stationary. However, the nonstationary bulging is generated by the change of the static pressure of the molten steel and the deterioration in the quality is liable to arise owing to the bite, sticking, etc. of the ingot in the stage of starting casting, exchanging a ladle or ending the casting. The above-mentioned deterioration in the quality is decreased and the trouble in the operation is prevented if the fluctuation of the molten metal surface is considerably decreased by disposing asymmetrically the roll groups. |
