PURPOSE:To correct always satisfactorily a picture signal of a solid state image pick-up device and to execute the satisfactory image pick-up regardless of the presence and absence of the change of the environmental temperature by controlling the off-set correcting value of respective picture elements for an actual time in accordance with the temperature of the photodetecting surface of the solid state image pick-up element. CONSTITUTION:After a picture signal, which is outputted from a solid state image pick-up element 3 by the image formed on the photodetecting surface by an image pick-up lens 1, is converted by an A/D converting device 4, the off-set is corrected by an adder 5 and the gain is corrected by a multiplier 7. The corrected picture signal is once stored in a memory 9, converted to an analog signal by a D/A converting device 10 and displayed in a display device 20. When the off-set is corrected, off-set values SA1 and SA2 for temperatures T1 and T2 are measured concerning one picture element A, and an off-set value SA for the temperature (t) of the solid state image pick-up element is obtained in an actual time. The output signal of a temperature sensor is inputted through an A/D converting device 12 to an off-set correcting data generating part 13.
