PURPOSE:To generate and measure a free radical at the same position by fixing an RF discharge electrode outside a measurement part and uniting the measurement part and an electric discharger. CONSTITUTION:Sample gas held in a sample container 4 is sucked in the sample measurement part 23 of a laser resonator 2 by a vacuum pump 6. The sample measurement part 23 has a discharge electrode 51 fixed on and under the external flank of a measurement pipe at the center position of the shape of an electromagnet 3 and a modulating coil 31. Discharging electric power outputted by an RF oscillator 53 is matched with a discharging load by a matcher 52, passed through a discharging electrode 51, and supplied as the discharge energy of the sample gas in the measurement pipe to be consumed for the generation of a free radial. The electrode 51 has its electrode surface in parallel to a modulating magnetic field produced by the modulating coil 31, so it never cross- links with the modulating magnetic field, which enters the measurement pipe easily. |
