CONTROL SYSTEM FOR DIE OPENING IN DIE CASTING

PURPOSE:To provide a control system for die opening which can prevent the chipping of a casting or the generation of an unsolidified biscuit part by constituting the system in such a manner that the operation of a timer for setting the time since the completion of the supply of a molten metal to dies till die opening is made adjustable in accordance with the measured temp. of the dies. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal in an injection cylinder 10 is supplied by the operation of an injection plunger 12 into dies 14, by which the casting is executed. The die temp. T0 detected by a temp. sensor 18 is stepwise compared with plural different reference temps. in this case. On the other hand, the delay time of the timer 26 for control which sets the time since the completion of the supply of the molten metal to the dies 14 till the die opening with respect to these reference temps. is set at the time meeting the respective temps. The prescribed timer operation time is selectively set by the output signal of the comparison with the reference temp. to which the above-mentioned detection temp. corresponds. The casting which is free from the chipping and unsolidified part is thus cast.
