PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic recording medium which has the excellent resistance to corrosion and scratching and long-term stable running property by constituting an inorg. protective film of an alloy of additive elements selected from the group of osmium and titanium. CONSTITUTION:The inorg. protective film is constituted of an alloy of >=1 kinds of elements selected from the group of platinum, palladium, rhodium ruthenium, yttrium and osmium and titanium. The disadvantages of the conventional magnetic recording medium, i.e., the deterioration in the scratching resistance such as flawing during running and the difficulty in the long-term preservation or use are thereby eliminated. |
