PURPOSE:To let the phase of rear wheel steering direction not reverse with the phase of front wheel steering direction when decelerating a vehicle abruptly, by determining the rear wheel steering angle respectively with a standard data table when less than an appointed deceleration, and with an abrupt deceleration data table when more than the appointed deceleration. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicle is running normally under the condition that the deceleration signal from a vehicle speed sensor 16 is less than an appointed value, a CPU reads out a steering ratio corresponding to a running speed from a standard data table 38, and determines a rear wheel steering angle and direction from this steering ratio and the front wheel steering angle data due to a front wheel steering angle sensor 14. And, the CPU drives and controls a rear wheel steering mechanism 10 so as to become the determined rear wheel steering angle and direction. Also, when a deceleration signal from the vehicle speed sensor 16 is more than the appointed value, the CPU reads out a steering ratio from an abrupt deceleration data table 39, and determines a rear wheel steering angle and direction. At this time, the rear wheel steering direction is controlled so as it does not become reverse phase against the front wheel steering direction. |
