PURPOSE:To improve steering stability by supplying necessary quantity of oil to a power cylinder to obtain a power assisted force equivalent to an output shaft loading. CONSTITUTION:When a control force is applied to a steering wheel, a relative displacement between a worm shaft 7 and a stub shaft 11 is produced, because the loading of output shaft side applies to the warm shaft 7. Owing to the above, a valve is switched, then pressure oil is supplied to a power cylinder 4, a piston 26 is operated, and a power assisted force is given through a sector shaft 9. This assisted force is given until the torsion of a torsion bar 12 is eliminated. On the other hand, since the piston 26 and the worm shaft 7 are connected by the worm gear, the worm shaft 7 is turned to the direction eliminating the torsion of the torsion bar 12. |
