<p>There is proposed a device for removing particles or droplets from gases, particularly exhaust gases during the combustion of fossil fuels specially for diesel engines. In the coagulator (18), are provided coaxial cylindrical electrodes (14, 15) as a wire netting (20) or pierced sheet metal plate (22). Such electrodes generate a highly non-homogeneous electric field as well as swirls due to the netting or sheet metal plate geometry, thereby facilitating the removal of carbon black particles and enhancing the precipitation effect.</p> |
