PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration caused by a secular change, and to obtain a good reliability by constituting a seal part of two layers, and using a liquid crystal composite consisting of a liquid crystal substance having a specified vapor pressure to an air-gap part between both the seal layers. CONSTITUTION:A seal part of an LCD which has sealed a liquid crystal composite 33 between two pieces of substrates 11, 13 provided with an electrode pattern is constituted of two layers of the first seal layer 17and the second seal layer, and an air-gap part provided between both the and the second seal layer, and an air-gap part provided between both the seal layers 17, 19 is sealed with a liquid crystal composite 23 consisting of a liquid crystal substance 1X10-<2>mb (100 deg.C) vapor pressure. By providing the seal part of a double constitution in which such a seal use liquid crystal composite is interposed, the leakage of a display use liquid crystal composite 23 does not occur therefore no composition ratio is varied, and no orientation, etc. is failed. In such a way, the deterioration of display due to secular change is prevented, the high temperature and high moisture proof is improved, so that the reliability is also improved.
