PURPOSE:To improve its transfer efficiency by forming a picture data bus and a DMA bus and using both the buses in accordance with purposes on the basis of an instruction from a CPU in a picture processing computer in data transfer between the picture processing computer and another computer. CONSTITUTION:The picture processing computer has the DMA bus 44 and the picture bus 47 and both the buses 44, 47 are connected with each other through an interface 49. A picture data line 62 to another computer is connected to both the buses 44, 47 through a line switching circuit 54 and interfaces 52, 53 and any one of the buses 44, 47 is used by controlling the circuit 54 on the basis of a switching instruction outputted from the CPU 41 to transfer picture data to another computer. The contents of a main memory 42 are transferred through the DMA bus 44 and the contents of the picture memory are transferred through the bus 47. Thus, the transfer course can be selected in accordance with the purpose/use of the picture data transfer, so that the transfer efficient of the whole picture data transfer processing can be improved.
