PURPOSE:To obtain timing control signal group for a waveform equalizer with a simple configuration by utilizing a memory and the counter storing values of variation points of a timing control signal group and continuation lengths. CONSTITUTION:In a waveform equalizer for eliminating transmission route distortion such as ghost, as variation is large, plural timing control signals having high speed is necessary. In order to generate such timing control signals, the ROM49 shall have stored signal values at variation points of signals corresponding to each bit, and in ROM51 continuation lengths of the signals shall be memorized. By the synchronous separation circuit 41, sample clock A isolated from the video signal 41 shall be input in the counter 53. When the continuation length stored in the ROM51 equals the value of the counter 53, via the flip-flop 44, the counter 50 advances '1'. Then ROM49 generates the next control signal 47a-47h via latch 48 as well as ROM51 outputs the continuation time of said signal group.
