NEW MATERIAL:An anthracyclin derivative shown by the formula I (R is tetrahydropyranyl, or tetrahydrofuranyl). EXAMPLE:dl-9-Acetyl-o-tetrahydropyranyl-6,9,11-trihydroxy-7,8-,9,10-te trahydrona phthacene-5,12-dione. USE:A tolerance conquesting agent for carcinostatic agents. Effective in a lower concentration than that of N-acetyldaunomycin. PREPARATION:A compound shown by the formula II is reacted with dihydropyrane or dihydrofuran in the presence of an acid to give an anthracyclin compound shown by the formula I.
