PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of light reflected from the surface of the display body of a photodeteptive display element by sticking a glass plate subjected to nonreflecting treatment to the front of the display element with a material having a refractive index nearly equal to the refractive index of the glass plate. CONSTITUTION:A soda lime glass plate 1 of about 1mm thickness having about 1.52 refractive index is successively coated with SiO2 to about 1,000Angstrom , ZrO2 to about 1,400Angstrom and MgF2 to 1,000Angstrom to form a nonreflecting layer 2, and the glass plate 1 having the layer 2 is used as a glass plate subjected to nonreflecting treatment. Soda lime glass substrates each having a transparent electrode 3 of ITO on the inside are placed opposite to each other with a liq. crystal layer 4 in-between. Two polarizing plates 5, 6 each formed by supporting an iodide film on a cellulose acetate film are stuck to the outsides of the substrates with an adhesive, and an irregularly reflecting plate 7 is further stuck in the same way to manufacture a liq. crystal display element 10. |
