Method of preparing a dialysate solution, and a mixing and storage tank used therefor

The concentrated salt solution needed for dialysis of human blood in a dialyser has hitherto been supplied to the dialysis centres as a ready-made mixture in upright tanks or filled in 10 litre canisters. In order to avoid the large storage capacities required and in order to ensure a reliable supply of concentrated salt solution, it is proposed that the "blank" water prepared in a dialysis centre be used for the inhouse preparation of the sodium chloride solution. The mixing and storage tank (10) used for this is characterised in that it has a measurement device (40) and two sensors (30, 32), in that these sensors (30, 32) are connected with the measurement device (40) and in that this measurement device (40) displays the level (60, 62) of the solution in the tank and the electrical conductivity of the solution, the two sensors (30,32) in the tank being arranged such that one sensor (30) displays a settable, minimum level (60) of the solution while the other sensor (32) displays a settable, maximum level (62) of the solution.
