The invention relates to a device for preparing originals for overhead projection by photographic reproduction, having an original holder, a lens, a film holder, a film drive, a shutter and illuminating devices for the original. It is the object of the invention to provide a device for preparing originals for overhead projection by photographic reproduction, in which the original to be reproduced lies absolutely flat during reproduction, in which there is no need to manipulate frames and the like, which is simply constructed and easy to handle. The invention consists in that the original holder is a horizontally mounted glass plate arranged in the surface of a housing, in that a deflecting mirror and illuminating devices are arranged under said glass plate, and in that the film holder is arranged essentially vertically and forms a module together with a film drive and film processing device or pressing device for instant pictures.
