<p>The device for the storage of flat articles includes shelves (1) wherein are arranged containers (5) for the flat articles (6). The device comprises also a control apparatus (10) by means of which the containers may be handled or brought to a transportation device (20) which supplies a material processing machine (21). The container (5) comprises a first bottom section (51) for receiving the articles (6) which have not yet been machined as well as a second top section (52) which receives rests (57) of the material from the bottom section (51).
