PURPOSE:To produce the titled compsn. having clear tone and excellent light resistance and long-term stability and useful as a coloring material, by mixing fine clay mineral powder, treated with an inorg. salt. with an aq. soln. of an acidic water-soluble dye. CONSTITUTION:10-100pts. at least one fine clay mineral powder having an average particle size of 2-15mu, selected from among zeolite, bentonite, vaterite, nontronite, saponite, kaolin, nacrite, dickite, halloysite, agalmatolite and sericite, is mixed with 100-1,000pts. aq. soln. of 0.05-5N inorg. salt (e.g. CaCl2) at 5-60 deg.C. The mixture is stirred for 15min-3hr and the product is recovered by filtration washed with water and dried. 10-100pts.wt. resulting fine powder is added to 100-1,000pts. aq. soln. contg. 0.1-10% acidic water-soluble dye, and the mixture is mixed at 10-50 deg.C for 5min-2hr, washed with water and dried at 40-80 deg.C to obtain a colored extender pigment compsn. composed of 70-99.8wt% fine clay mineral powder, 0.1-15wt% inorg. salt and 0.05-15wt% dye. |
