PURPOSE:To obtain a cold cathode discharge lamp having an excellent property and a long life by having a process to coat electrodes with a metal organic compound for sintering. CONSTITUTION:Nickel electrodes are dipped into the solution of an organic metal compound while applying an organic metal compound solution to the electrode surfaces followed by heating in an atmosphere at 120 deg.C for being dried. Said electrodes 5 are fitted into the holes of a mold 4 for being sealed inside a glass bulb 1 for performing activation of the electrodes by high frequency heating and sealing mixed gas of neon and argon as the easily dischargeable gas followed by sealing the end part of an exhaust pipe for manufacturing neon lamps by a mass producer. The compound, which is mainly composed of the respective simple substances of barium and aluminum, and that mainly composed of barium and aluminium whose weight ratio is 3:1 or 1:3, is used for said organic metal compound. In this way, the electron radiation material of the electrodes is coated uniformly and evenly so as to have the surface of a continuous surface form while causing no exfoliation thus making it possible to obtain the cold cathode discharge lamp. |
