PURPOSE:To measure inexpensively, quickly and easily the concn. of a high- concn. slurry with high accuracy by adding water to the high-concn. slurry to prepare a low-concn. slurry and determining the concn. of the low-concn. slurry by calculation. CONSTITUTION:A suitable amt. of the high-concn. slurry is first put into the 1st vessel 3 and the weight S1 thereof is measured by a weighing meter 13. Water is then put into the vessel 3 and the weight W of the added water is measured by the weighing meter 13. The slurry is stirred thoroughly for the specified time by a stirrer 2 to prepare the low-concn. slurry. The low-concn. slurry is pumped 6 into the 2nd vessel 10 and the pump 6 and the stirrer 2 are stopped when the low-concn. slurry in the vessel 10 attains specified volume V. The weight S2 of the low-concn. slurry having the specified volume V is then measured by a weighing meter 11. The concn. M2 of the low-concn. slurry is determined from the relation between the weight of the low-concn. slurry having the specified volume V stored in an calculator 12 and the concn. of the low-concn. slurry. The concn. M1 of the high-concn. of the low-concn. slurry. The concn. M1 of the high-concn. slurry is determined from M1=(S2+W)M2/S1 and is displayed on a display device 13. |
