PURPOSE:To reliably switch the direction of a traveling laser beam without causing any mis-operation by reciprocatively moving a mirror for changing the direction of the laser beam by a cam which is driven by a driving system also used for a device for supplying, positioning and removing batteries. CONSTITUTION:When a change-over mirror 3 is in position (3a), the direction of a traveling laser beam 2 from a carbon dioxide gas laser oscillator 1 is changed by the mirror 3 before the beam 2 passes through a condenser 5 and then is irradiated upon a first battery 7 installed on a first processing table 9. When the mirror 3 is in position (3b), the direction of the laser beam 2 is changed after it linearly travels to a fixed mirror 4 and then the beam passes through a condenser 6 before being irradiated upon a second battery 8 installed on a second processing table 10. The mirror 3 is directly moved reciprocatively by a cam 15 attached to a driving shaft 14 driven by a bevel gear 13 which is attached to a main driving shaft 12 used as a driving source for a device for supplying, positioning and removing the first and the second batteries 7 and 8. |
