Tower crane with split jib

A tower crane has a jib (5) articulated on the tower head (4) and consisting of a jib foot part (7) and a jib tip part (8). The two jib parts (7, 8) are connected to one another by means of a pivot (28) which runs parallel to a plane set by bottom chords (16, 17; 19, 20). In order to permit especially space-saving folding of the jib parts, one of the two jib parts (7) is formed in a conventional manner with an upper top chord (15), while the other jib part (8) is formed like a U open to the top, which lies over the triangular jib part (7) in the folded state. <IMAGE>
