PURPOSE:To improve heat exchanging capacity (or heat dissipating performance) and compactness of the exchanger by a method wherein thermal resistance between the fins of finned heat exchanger and air is reduced. CONSTITUTION:The heat of flon refrigerant, flowing through a steel tube 4 in the condition of two-phase flow, is transferred through a fin collar 5, a fin 6 and twisted fin end 7, which are formed by aluminum, and effects heat exchange between air, flowing from the direction of arrow sign X in the diagram. The flow of air, flowing from the direction X in this case, generates two vortexes A, B upon colliding against the twisted fin ends 7. These vortexes become fine vortex threads and flows to the rear side of the fin whereby the heat conductivity of the surface of the fin is increased. On the other hand, in case the heat exchanger is empolyed as the outdoor machine of a heat pump, a fin efficiency at the tip end of the fin is reduced since the tip end of the fin is cut into narrow tablet and is twisted while the length of the fin is elongated by twisting it and the frosting area at the leading edge of the fin is increased. According to the elongation, a time from the beginning of frosting to the closing of air path due to the frosting may be elongated. |
