<p>Metal hydroxide suspensions are flocculated by water sol. salts of polymeric alkyl esters or N-alkylamides of acrylic or methacrylic acid, the alkyl groups carrying amino or quaternary ammonium substituents. Copolymers with monomers containing carboxylic or amide groups are also effective. The products must have a viscosity (1% aq. solution) of at least 1000 cP, pref. >3000 cP, corresponding to mol. wt. of 105-107.</p> |
