PURPOSE:To maintain stable idle turning for a long period by providing an idle adjusting passage in which foreign matters hardly sticks to the tip of an idle adjusting screw. CONSTITUTION:An opening 6 is made in an air-intake passage 2 situated upstream from a throttle body 1 so that the passage 2 is connected to the first idle passage 7 which bypasses a throttle valve 3. Next a branch passage 13 is formed, by drilling it from the outside of the throttle body 1 in the direction to cross the first idle passage 7. In addition, a plug is installed so as to suitably close a hole 20. Both an idle adjust screw 15 and a valve seat 14 are installed in the lateral direction at the straight part of this branch passage 13. With this, since foreign matters in the intake air flow tend to advance straight in the first idle passage 7 because of their inertia and hardly intrude into the branch passage 13, the tip of the idle adjust screw 15 can be almost free from foreign matters. |
