摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform stable printing recording by one detection electrode, by controlling a charge phase not only at the time of initial rising by detecting the charge phase of all nozzles in a time sharing manner but also at the time of recording by successively detecting the charge phase of each nozzle at every line recording. CONSTITUTION:The ink injected from the nozzle of a nozzle plate 8 is separated into ink particles at an area where the ink advanced over a predetermined distance. When a charge electrode 9 is arranged at this separation position and charge voltage is applied thereto at the point of time of separation, ink particles are charged to polarity inverse to that of the charge voltage. The charged ink particles are deflected in the deflection electric field between the deflection electrodes 111, 112 connected to a deflection power source 10 to be transferred to recording paper 13. A phase detection circuit 174 is used in controlling the charge phase of ink droplet of each nozzle on the basis of the charge quantity detected by one conductive gutter 14 at the detection time of a charge phase. By this method, the detection of the charge phase can be performed by one electrode and the control of the charge phase can be performed while the apparatus can be simplified and the phase control of all nozzles can be performed without decreasing a printing speed ad stable printing is enabled.
