PURPOSE:To distribute incident light o other fibers uniformly through simple constitution by arraying plural optical fibers in parallel to a surface of a slab lens which has a uniform refractive index, and providing a reflecting film on the end surface. CONSTITUTION:The refractive index of the vertical surface of the slab lens 12 of 1/4-pitch length including the center axis is decreased gradually and the horizontal surface perpendicular to it is given the uniform refractive index; and plural optical fibers 13-20 are arrayed in parallel to the horizontal surface. Incident light from a fiber 16 at the center position is diverged at its aperture angle and reflected by the reflecting film 21 to travel backward, and then distributed uniformly to other fibers. Further, optical fibers for light incidence and projection are all arrayed at one end surface side of the lens, so assembly and position adjustment are facilitated and accurately and optical loss is reduced. |
