Compsn. (I) to stabilize a 25-35% aq. soln. of H2O2 against decomposition in the presence of polyvalent cations so as to exhibit a max. residue on evapn. of 20 mg/l comprises: (A) 0.1-1.4 mg/kg of Sn; (B) 0.1-2.5 mg/kg of phosphate added as an organic phosphonic acid; and (C) 0.1-5.5 mg/kg of citric acid or a salt thereof. A method of stabilising aq. H2O2 using (I) is also claimed. - Pref. the phosphonic acid is amino tris(methylenephosphonic acid), ethylenediamine tetra(methylenephosphonic acid) or 1-hydroxyethyl-1,1-diphosphonic acid.
