PURPOSE:To ensure the removal of cut chips of a wire material and thereby to prevent the faulty operation of a drawing chuck, by providing a means of opening and closing the chuck frequently after the wire material is cut, and a means of supplying the chuck with an air stream for cleaning. CONSTITUTION:After a wire material is cut by a current device, a drawing chuck 30 is opened and closed frequently by the repeated supply of air thereto and exhaust of it therefrom. Then, shocking vibrations are applied to a cut chip 2', vacuum suction is applied simultaneously by a suction pipe 36, and the chip 2' thus sucked is put in a prescribed accumulation box. By this method, the cut chip 2' is surely removed without being left at the chuck pawl 35 of the drawing chuck 30. Accordingly, the chuck is prevented from the faulty operation due to any remaining cut chip 2' in subsequent chucking operations, and thus a winding device of high reliability is obtained. |
