PURPOSE:To increase the contrast, the accuracy and the color purity of a shadow-mask-type color picture tube and improve its voltage resistant characteristic by using an inorganic adhesive containing no alkali metal or alkaline earth metal to form a graphite particle coating on the surface of a shadow mask facing an aluminum vapordeposition film. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a shadow mask 6 facing an aluminum vapordeposition film 5, a graphite particle coating 7 is formed by using a phosphate-system inorganic adhesive containing no alkali metal or alkaline earth metal such as primary aluminum phosphate. Although an electron beam 9 discharged from an electron gun causes a fluorescent film 4 to emit reflected electrons 10, since the particle coating 7 of the shadow mask 6 absorbs the reflected electrons 10, it is possible to prevent any deterioration of the contrast, the accuracy and the color purity of the picture tube. |
