The battery-operated electrical motor, with the aid of change-over components (29,30,34,35), functions as a generator and charges the battery (18) when the load bearer is lowered. It is of the compound type, with a rotor winding (21), a series winding (22), and a shunt winding (23), and the changeover components (29,30,34,35) uncouple a part of the series winding from the motor current circuit when the motor acts as a generator. During the generator phase, a connecting lead (32) is coupled between the rotor winding (21) and one pole of the battery (18), and a second lead (33) is connected between the other pole of the battery and a part of the series winding (22). The changeover components include a switch (29,30) which, during the generator phase, breaks the motor current circuit on each side of the rotor and series windings (21,22). The changeover components also incorporate two rectifiers (34,35) which are connected to the leads (32,33) so that current may flow through them during the generator phase but no during the motor phase. |
