A self-powered water pump and filter unit is removeably mounted upon a water borne vessel to draw an attached vacuum head across the bottom of a pool while simultaneously providing a propulsion force to propel the vessel along the water surface. Directional control of the propelled vessel is provided by manually controlling the direction of the propulsion force.
