PURPOSE:To gasify fine carbonaceous pitch with extremely high fixed carbon content effectively while keeping a large amount of paricle coke precipitation, by bringing the fine carbonaceous pitch into contact with a fluidized high- temperature porous fine powder so that it is gasified. CONSTITUTION:Fine powder of fine liquid droplet carbonaceous pitch (prefer ably, >=90wt% pitch having 1-5,000mum representative diameter) is brought into contact with high-temperature porous fine powder which is fluidized with a gas containing steam and/or molecular oxygen, and gasified usually at 750-1,000 deg.C. Fine spherical particles having 0.2-1.5cm<3>/g pore volume, 5-1,500m<2>/g specific surface area, 10-10,000Angstrom average pore diameter, and 0.025-0.25mm weight-average diameter, and having properties kept stably at temperature used, is used as the fine powder. EFFECT:Use of a large amount of fluidized articles is not required. |
