PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a lock mechanism in a seat slide rail in which an engaging member provided to either one of lower and upper rails of a slide rail is engaged with an engaged member provided to the other one of them, by forming the engaging member with a single resilient member. CONSTITUTION:A seat slide rail 1 in the front seat section of an automobile is composed of a lower rail 2 secured to a vehicle body floor, and an upper rail 5 slidably fitted onto the rail 2 through the intermediary of rotatable rollers 3 and steel balls 4. In this arrangement, a lock mechanism R2 in the slide rail 1 comprises a lock plate 8 as an engaged member formed at its front end with concave and convex engaging projections 12 and attached to the lower surface of the lower rail 2, and an L-like ratch 15 as an engaging member made of a leaf spring and attached to the upper rail 5. Further, the ratch 15 is formed, in the lower section of its side wall 16, engaging holes 17 adapted to be engaged with the projections 12, and a connecting part 18 for a releasing control wire 13. |
