1334289 Stabilized peroxides KONINKLIJKE INDUSTRIEELE MAATSCHAPPIJ NOURY & VAN DER LANDE NV 13 Dec 1971 [14 Jan 1971] 57693/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises a chemically stable, non-separating composition comprising an organic peroxide which is solid at room temperature, or a mixture of such peroxides, a liquid phlegmatizer in which the peroxide is insoluble or only slightly soluble and a hydrophobic reaction product of a pyrogenic silica with a dialkyl dichlorosilane. The composition is prepared by adding said reaction product of silica to a mixture of said peroxide and said phlegmatizer with stirring. The composition may comprise 20-60% peroxide, 0-20% water, 2-6% silica and 20-60% phlegmatizer. Phlegmatizers may be mixtures of solid and liquid phlegmatizers, but the mixture must be liquid. Many peroxides and phlegmatizers are listed. Peroxides may be diacyl peroxides, peroxydicarbonates and cyclohexanone peroxide and phlegmatizers include phthalate plasticizers, glycols and their ethers and esters and non- volatile alcohols. |
