In a fastening device for doors, windows or the like with espagnolettes and snap fastening, the release is obtained by an actuating means, for example a push-button. The espagnolettes are loaded in a position predetermined by an elastic element. The espagnolettes terminate in a shaped projection cooperating with a shaped seat which is arranged in the hook group which is itself subject to the effect of a spring. The hook group has a receptacle, in order to cooperate with a fixed pin secured to a part of the frame on which the fastening device is mounted. For release, pressure is exerted on the actuating means, in order to prevent the elastic element from acting on the espagnolette and to bring about the rotation of the shaped projection of the espagnolette within the shaped seat of the hook group, its release being accomplished by the fixed part, whilst the projection of the espagnolette slides on a shaped surface of the hook group into the opening position.
