1294203 Production of silver SIEMENS A G 7 Sept 1970 [19 Sept 1969] 42824/70 Heading C7D Catalytically active silver is produced by the reduction of a silver salt in the presence of a metal hydroxide on which the silver is deposited, the hydroxide then being dissolved out to leave not more than 5% w/ w thereof based on the deposited silver. The hydroxide may be dissolved in a base, such as NH 4 OH, NaOH or KOH. The silver salt may be AgNO 3 . The reducing agent may be hydrazine, formaldehyde or hydroxylamine. The hydroxide may be aluminium, cobalt, cadmium or nickel hydroxide. |
