Movement between two video frames (g,h) is determined by taking the inverse Fourier transform (d) of a function (D) of the Fourier transforms (G,H) of the frames to give a phase correlation function. To generate an approximation of the second frame (g) by reference only to the first (h), the values of the phase correlation function in the vicinity of its maximum value can be used directly as coefficients in a transversal filter acting as an interpolator which operates on the first frame (h). <IMAGE> |
