发明名称 METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING FRICTION COEFFICIENT OF COVERED OPTICAL FIBER IN LOOSE TYPE OPTICAL CABLE
摘要 PURPOSE:To perform measurement by using short cable simply and highly accurately, by winding the cable tightly around a bobbin, whose axis is provided horizontally, in the vertical direction, opening both ends, drawing a fiber from one end at a constant speed, measuring the force, and obtaining the friction coefficient by using aspecified expression. CONSTITUTION:An optical cable 8 is wound around a bobbin 9, whose axis is provided in the horizontal direction, tightly at a radius R in the vertical direction so that the cable parts are contacted to each other. Both ends of the cable are opened upward in the vertical direction. A covered fiber 1 is drawn from one end at a constant speed. The tensile force TR is measured by a load cell 10. The coefficient mu is obtained by an expression in the Figure, where l is the length of the cable 8, which is wound around the bobbin, W is the weight of the fiber 1 per unit length and mu is the friction coefficient of the fiber 1. Thus length of the cable 8 can be made short.
