PURPOSE:To control the CO loss in the gas generated from a converter so as to minimize the loss by determining the rate of leakage from a furnace port from the combustion rate of the recovered waste gas in the furnace port by the air intruded into the furnace port during converter blowing, the flow rate of the waste gas to be ventilated and the compsn. of the gas and calculating quantitatively the CO loss in the gas. CONSTITUTION:The converter gas generated in the converter 1 during blowing is passed through the inside of a duct through a vertically movable skirt 2 at the terminal of a hood 3 by which the gas is cooled and removed of dust. While the flow rate is controlled by a damper 4, the gas is induced 5 into a gas holder. The combustion loss Vl<(1)> of the CO in the waste gas recovery system by the intrusion of air is calculated in accordance with the numerical values by a gas analyzer 7 and a flow rate detector 8 during the this time. The flow rate Vl<(2)> of the gas leaking to the ventilation system is calculated in accordance with the numerical values of a gas analyzer 13 and a flow rate detector 14. A gas control system for the recovering device is controlled so as to minimize the total loss Vl of the CO, i.e., the value Vl<(1)>+Vl<(2)>. The CO loss is thus reduced effectively as compared to the prior art. |
