PURPOSE:To realize an enciphering system which provides difficulty in deciphering by performing enciphering operation differently according to each character position of a text to be transmitted and realizing the enciphering operation as the internal operation of a terminal device. CONSTITUTION:The text to be sent is stored in a text register 1, an enciphering register 3 is cleared, and a character position specifying register 4 is reset to zero. Then, the contents of the character position specifying register 4 are increased by one and one character in the text register 1 which is specified by the contents of the character position specifying register 4 is stored in a register 5, and arithmetic information among character enciphring elements in a key table register 2 which is specified by the contents of the character position specifying register 4 is stored in an arithmetic information register 6, an operator is stored in an operator register 7, and character position change specifying information is stored in a character position change specifying information register 8. Arithmetic which is specified by the contents of the operator register 7 between the contents of the character register 5 and those of the arithmetic information register 6 is performed by a computing element 9 under the control of an arithmethic controller 10, so that the result is stored in an enciphering character register 11. |
